Class Descriptions

We have something for everyone.

Slow Flow + Yin (Mondays)

We start with a gentle Hatha Yoga based warmup, moving together through a series of postures at a slow and relaxed pace, with a focus on alignment, navigating pain, and injury prevention.

We then slow down even more and enter into the world of Yin Yoga. Have a conversation with gravity.

You’ll be guided into postures that you will hold for longer periods of time, allowing gravity to work on the connective tissues and even the bones.

Each week, class will focus on opening a different chakra, or energy center, in the body.

Afterglow (Wednesdays)

This mixed-levels intro to vinyasa class is inspired by the Ashtanga-based “Rocket Yoga” practice taught at AstaYoga, our host studio — but transformed into a gentle candlelight flow.  New students will be welcomed to the group and invited to warm up with a partner (or two).

Connecting breath with movement, we then begin our sequence with Sun Salutations, followed by standing postures, balancing postures, seated postures, supine postures, backbends, and inversions. Everything is optional, and modifications are encouraged.

Beginners* will be thrilled they can do it.  Seasoned practitioners will find the practice consistent, rigorous and fulfilling.

*Beginners with limited mobility may find our other classes more appropriate, at least to start.

Partner Flow (Fridays)

Craving platonic touch and human connection? Bend with a friend! (Or two. Or more.)

This beginner-friendly, slow-paced, flowing class invites you to support, and be supported by, a partner in your yoga practice.

Want to go a little deeper? Ask for more. Want a little less? Communicate with your partner.

Expect to change partners several times.

We often end with guided massage, and sometimes a platonic cuddle puddle!

Bring a friend, or make new ones!

YinFluence (Sundays)

Blocks, bolsters and blankets, oh my!

In this flowing, Yin Yoga-influenced practice, we will move gently and continuously through a series of intuitively linked postures, inviting undulating and rotational movements to softly release tension in the body. As we explore our individual range of motion, we will incorporate muscle activation techniques to increase joint stability.

This beginner-friendly, accessible practice will help you navigate and reduce body pain and calm the mind.
