Despite first tasting yoga 10 years ago at Harbin Hot Springs, Meesha kept the physical and spiritual separate. While he cycled in AIDS/LifeCycle and raced in several triathlons, he explored spirituality through workshops and retreats such as CMG, Somatic Expression and the Radical Faeries. Feeling something was still missing, Meesha returned to the yoga mat in 2007 and found the alchemy in yoga that melds the athletic with the spiritual, which resulted in something even greater.
In January 2013, Meesha dove into a month-long intensive teacher training at Yoga Tree and is now certified with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200. On his second day of training, he saw for the first time how every person’s body is different and realized his goal as a teacher is not to have students look like pictures in a book but to help all of them achieve the fullest expression of the poses for their bodies in those moments.
Through a combination of flow, breath work, meditation and more, Meesha takes his students on an invigorating journey bringing together Mind, Body, and Spirit. In every practice, he strives to help students express the Joy that radiates within and connect a little more deeply to their True Selves.
And maybe just now and then, Smile.
