Ken has practiced yoga for over 10 years and became certified with Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200 after graduating from Yoga Tree’s YogaTeacher Training program in 2006. Yoga Alliance has recognized him as a ERYT-200/RYT-500 as he completed his Yoga Therapy training at Ananda Seva Mission in July 2010. Ken has been leading a Naked Men’s class here at the SUN ROOM since 2007. Ken teaches Naked Men’s Yoga on Tuesdays at 7:45 p.m and is honored to be covering Sundays at 6:00pm while Darren is adjusting to fatherhood. Ken’s Vinyasa Flow class is for all levels! In his classes, Ken provides eclectic Non-denominational Hatha yoga guidance, honoring a variety of traditions, such as Iyengar alignment principles, invigorating Kudalini Kriya, and playful Acroyoga-inspired partner work. He invites you to embrace SIMPLICITY, PATIENCE and COMPASSION as you deepen your practice and your connection with your true Self. Ken offers Yoga Therapy workshops on a variety of topics such as restorative yoga, grief, relationships, stress management and coping with chronic illness. In addition to yoga, Ken also serves as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. I never seem to comprehend the phrase "perfect yoga voice" until I practice yoga with Ken, both in an individual basis and in class. His gentle, soothing, yet deep and confident voice makes yoga directions easy to follow. Aside from his voice, he is very patient and understands the needs of his students and gauge the intensity of the class quite well. In a class setting, he would provide several alternatives to a yoga pose that accomodate the different level of yoga practice between the students. In other words, whether you are a new yoga student or someone that practice it for a long time, you can still benefit from taking his class. Ken is warm and friendly and certainly provide adequate attention for new and returning students. I thoroughly enjoy his classes as I have seen great improvement in my flexibility and coordination over the past year. I am an exercise physiologist and I usually recommend clients to practice yoga as part of his/her flexibilty training component and Ken would be the top name on my list whom I refer my clients to! -Tim

When you want to learn yoga the right way, you need a great teacher! Attending one of Ken's classes not only benefits you physically but mentally and spiritually as well. Ken has a wonderful, fun, challenging sense of humor and knows how to teach a mixed level class. He has great intuition on helping everyone regardless of level, always walking around the room checking and helping. His partner and or circle pose's are a lot of fun and let you connect with others. I was interested in trying this for a long time when a friend invited me to join him for a naked men's yoga class, and I've been back several times now, on different days and with different teachers. It's always a good experience, and sometimes it's a stellar experience. The vibe is really accepting and not intimidating at all. The guys who go are welcoming and friendly, and they come in all shapes, sizes, races, and ages. There aren't a lot of venues where you can say that. The teachers are caring and helpful, and they know their stuff. The yoga itself is sometimes challenging, sometimes not challenging enough for my taste; but I always get something out of it, and I always leave feeling renewed. -Dave R.
